Important: Wireless Customers Need to Disable Calling PLUS

June 03, 2020

Big heads up for your Wireless Services customers (and maybe you, too!): Our carrier partner is discontinuing Calling PLUS on June 15, 2020. When it’s gone, some of your customers will experience service issues if they don’t disable the feature on their device.

We’re emailing impacted customers to let them know to disable Calling PLUS or update their device software before the 15th, otherwise their outgoing calls will be dropped.  Also, depending on what device they use, customers’ ability to make calls and use data at the same time will be affected. Here’s how that shakes out:

Group 1 Devices

·      LG Stylo 3

·      LG G6

·      LG Tribute Dynasty

·      LG X Charge

·      Motorola Z2 Force

·      Motorola Z3 Play

·      Samsung J7 Perx

Impact: Customers using these devices won’t be able to make a call while using data. Wi-Fi calling will still work. For these devices, customers need to disable Calling PLUS in their settings menu to avoid dropped calls.

Group 2 Devices

·      Samsung Galaxy S8

·      Samsung Galaxy S8+

·      Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

·      Samsung Galaxy S9

·      Samsung Galaxy S9+

·      Samsung Note 8

·      LG V30+

·      LG G7 ThinQ

·      LG V40 ThinQ

·      LG Stylo 4

·      LG K30

Impact: Calling PLUS was removed from these devices in a recent software update and replaced by VoLTE. Customers should make sure they have the absolute latest version of their device’s software installed to avoid call drops and continue using talk and data at the same time.

If you know customers who use this feature, reach out and let them know this is coming!
