As part of our official shift to Kynect, BIG updated the community social media guidelines to highlight the change, namely in how we solicit energy services. We answered questions below that makes it easier to know what you can and can't post (and where!) on social media.
How can I use social media for my business?
When representing Kynect on social media, it’s important to keep the focus on your warm market. Our company was founded on the warm market principle and we believe building relationships is the key to a successful Kynect business. This means you should avoid public facing social media forums, like paid for or boosted ads, or advertising.
What can I post?
You can create your own materials and content when posting about the Kynect Opportunity, as long as you follow the Kynect IA Style and Messaging Guide and the Kynect Policies & Procedures. The big thing to remember is that any post mentioning potential Kynect earnings or incentives – like bonuses, MEI, trips, cars and the like – that are more than an average IA’s earnings must be accompanied by one of Kynect’s approved income disclaimers, which can be found in Kynect Central.
Social media advertising is also allowed for soliciting Kynect Services. However, you may only market energy services with materials created by Stream. For other services, like Wireless, we strongly encourage you to use pre-approved social media materials. The social media marketing materials for energy and wireless services are all currently located in Kynect Central.
What about videos?
You can create videos to solicit for the Kynect Opportunity and Kynect Services, like Wireless, using warm market resources. These videos, including pre-recorded and live video recordings, can be created and shared using social media sites, such as YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. But before posting, the video and/or script must be approved by BIG. Don’t forget to include Kynect-approved disclaimers in your videos if there are earnings or lifestyle statements!
You can also share videos Kynect has created from Kynect Central or Kynect’s social media pages. Creating videos to solicit for energy services is not allowed. Again, you can only market energy services with materials created by Stream.
