Coming 2/3: A New Approach to Powering Texas Businesses

Our energy partner, Stream, is always on the hunt to give your customers a seamless experience from top to bottom—including customers who need to power their business. Today, we’re excited to announce that Commercial in Texas will get an awesome makeover on February 3 (including a new name, which will apply in all markets) to enhance your customers’ experience and create more opportunity for you!


Introducing Stream for Business

Before we dive in, first things first: Commercial will be called Stream for Business. There are now 2 categories of businesses that determine what kind of plans and experiences are available to your customers:

Small Business (less than 10,000 sq./ft.)
Medium Business (greater than 10,000 sq./ft.)

What Does It All Mean?

More Opportunities to Grow

These changes will improve the earning potential of going after medium-sized businesses. It will be extremely worth your while to pursue independently owned, single footprint businesses like boutique hotels, small apartment complexes and office buildings.

Up to 5 Years of Peace of Mind for All

Medium Business customers will now be able to lock in a competitive rate and peace of mind for up to 5 years. The old max was 3. That’s a long, steady flow of MEI for your business.

White Glove Service for Medium Businesses

Stream knows bigger businesses tend to have more moving parts, making personalized service a must. Medium Businesses will enjoy a dedicated concierge service from an Account Executive, from the moment they contact Stream and throughout their stay as a customer.

Transparent Pricing for Small Businesses

What if you could walk into an appointment with a small business owner and already know the rate you can offer them? With these changes, Small Business rates will be published on the Currents Rates page so you can download them before every appointment. You and your customer will know right away what’s on the table, no request for quote or a phone call to Stream required. Choose Texas Electricity in the dropdown menu to download the flyer. The Small Business rates will appear below the residential pricing.

Easier, Faster Enrollment Across the Board

Finally, enrollments are simpler and quicker for everyone. Medium Businesses will work closely with their Account Executive to quickly generate a quote that’s tailor-made for their needs. The entire process is easier and more efficient than ever. Transparent pricing for Small Businesses means they’ll simply call Stream and get enrolled in minutes, not days.

What About Other Markets?

Every energy market is unique. These changes were created for Texas because they make sense for Texas. The existing processes work well in Georgia and the Northeast, so they’re staying put. Customers in those states will continue to use the request for quote process (which will be faster than before!) online and work with their Account Executives. But you can bet Stream’s looking for ways to bring improvements to these markets in the future.

Customer Support Changes

Moving forward, all Small Business customer account questions or concerns should be taken directly to Customer Support by the customer themselves, not to an individual agent or someone you know “on the inside.” Stream’s support team has grown tremendously. So, while you won’t be able to call up Bob directly with your question, you shouldn’t worry. There are about 200 more Bobs who can provide the same level of service!

Medium Business customers will, of course, contact their Account Executive.
